Sam has always had a love for irrigation and the agriculture environment.  He grew up on a sheep and beef farm in Southern Hawkes Bay and has been in the irrigation industry for the past 10 years within the Hawkes Bay region.  In early 2023, the opportunity came along to get in the driver's seat with his own business -
The Irrigator Hawkes Bay Ltd.

Sam completed his Bachelor of Commerce in Agriculture at Lincoln University in 2008, which led onto his passion for the irrigation industry.  He has since gained a NZQA Level 5 certificate in Irrigation Design, and a wealth of knowledge and experience within the industry.  Sam and his family reside in Central Hawkes Bay with Melissa his wife and three young children helping out when they can.

Calum has worked in the Irrigation industry for over 5 years and joined The Irrigator Hawkes Bay team in 2024. As our Senior Irrigation Technician, his wealth of knowledge in sports turf irrigation, and experience in orchard and vineyard installations has proven an asset to the team. Not to mention his Scottish sense of humor.

Ty joined The Irrigator Hawkes Bay in November 2025 after a lengthy career in sports turf irrigation management. Interspersed with looking after sports grounds, he also has experience in irrigation design, installation and trouble shooting. On the weekends when he’s not working you can usually find him and his wife watching his kids playing sport.
